Kestrels 2020

Some nice news. I first saw the kestrels along the Shinano River mating back during the winter break. Already they have fledged two. Then I saw them mating again while trying to drive off the first two fledglings. It seems they have a positive outlook to the future. Today was windy but I avoided busy parks for obvious reasons. When I passed by two were playing tag in the gusty wind. I messed up many shots but go some. I see one had a mouse and the two seemed to be playing around. All was good until crows stuck their beaks into the action. Don’t worry. They were out skilled and soon tired and went away. I have seen success at the same place since 2005. Every year.
