Photographing Chaos

When a butterfly flaps its wings in Costa Rica, this is what happens in Japan.

It was pretty exciting at Hyoko on Saturday. At one stage I saw 4 young and one adult Northern Goshawk on the wing at the same time. I didn’t know where to point my lens. When they are on the move they can really stir up the mud. A sign on a bridge said it was 5C just before I arrived and I think things got colder, especially as I became hungry. I didn’t want to leave though in case I missed something. I went back the next day to see lightening strike a second time. It was sunny then and 15C, and I stood and waited for hours without anything happening. Such is birding.
